MODAL CAN AND CAN NOT OR CAN'T

USE: El modal can se utiliza con verbos y añade un significado especial como la mayoria de los modales. Can tiene mas de un significado.

 

Meaning - significados

Joe can speak french ( habilidad)

Joe can leave early ( permiso)

It can be hot here? ( posibilidad)

 

AFFIRMATIVE FORM: Can va antes del verbo y tiene solo unha forma ( can + verb)

Example: John can swim quickly

You can go to the movies with your friends

 

NEGATIVE FORM: (Can+ not + verb)

Eample: Paula can't swim

Manuela can not meet us tonight

 

WH QUESTION: (Wh + can + verb)

Example: When can you help me?

Introduction:

Alejandro's romance

Alejandro was a student at Villa del Socorro high school, he was studing english. Right now he is in english class.

"Hi! I'm Yorladis," Says a teenager to Alejandro. She was sitting next to him. The teacher was talking. Alejandro wasn't listening. He was writing a note to Yorladis.

I'm Alejandro. Meet me at the cafe restaurant after the class at 2: 30.

It was three o'clock now. Alejandro and Yorladis were at the restaurant . they were eating salads . they were looking each other. Yorladis was smiling.

What was she thinking?  Alejandro ask himself. Yorladis was thinking  " what a rich salads "

Veronica: We were there for two days, but we didn't see everything. There are so many things to see!  My favorite was enormous airplanes at airport , we went on the exciting river rionegro, wesaw the riverboat and the train too.
